Over at Kirkus: SLAYER by Kiersten White

We are over at Kirkus today for our regular column! It’s Thea’s turn today with a review of Kiersten White’s newest: YA urban fantasy novel Slayer.

Like basically every other SFF nerd of the past 20 years, Thea is a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer–and Kiersten White is one of her favorite authors. Put the two together in a spinoff series, set after the activation of all Potential Slayers and following a girl raised as a Watcher, turned Slayer? SHUT UP AND TAKE ALL OUR MONEY. Thea James is one half of the maniacal duo behind The Book Smugglers. She is Filipina-American, but grew up in Hawaii, Indonesia, and Japan. A full-time book nerd who works in publishing for her day job, Thea currently resides in Astoria, Queens with her partner and rambunctious cat. COOKING FOR WIZARDS, WARRIORS & DRAGONS (available August 31, 2021) is her first cookbook.
