Weekend Poll

Nonsensical Weekend Poll

For this week’s ponderings:

Which badass dude is your favorite?

Fight Club, Tyler Durden – “The first rule about fight club is you do not talk about fight club.”

Taxi Driver, Travis Bickle – “You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? Then who the hell else are you talking… you talking to me? Well I’m the only one here. Who the fuck do you think you’re talking to? Oh yeah? OK.”

Lord of the Rings, Aragorn – “A day may come, when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of Fellowship, but it is not this day! An hour of wolves and shattered shileds when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you, stand, men of the West!”

Terminator & T2, the Terminator – Hasta la vista, baby

There Will Be Blood, Daniel Plainview – “I… drink… your… milkshake!”

The Magnificent Seven, Vin – “We deal in lead, friend.”

Star Wars, Master Yoda – “Do or do not. There is no try.”

Gladiator, Maximus – “My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.”

Star Wars, Han Solo – “I love you. I know.”

Pulp Fiction, Jules – “Say ‘what’ again! Say ‘what’ again! I dare you! I double-dare you, motherfucker! Say ‘what’ one more God damn time!”

Star Trek, Mr. Spock – “Live long and prosper” (or, in Vulcan, “Dup dor a’az Mubster”)

Scarface, Tony Montana – “Say hello to my little friend!”

Tombstone, Doc Holliday – “I’m your huckleberry.”

Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones – “Fortune and glory kid. Fortune and glory.” / “That BELONGS in a MUSEUM!”

Die Hard, John McClane – “Yippee ki ay, mother fucker.” (conversely, in this picture: “Come out to the coast, we’ll get together, have a few laughs”)

300, Leonidas – “Madness? THIS IS SPARTA!”/”Ready your breakfast and eat hearty, FOR TONIGHT, WE DINE IN HELL!!!”/”Come and get them!”

Independence Day, President Whitmore – “Nuke ’em. Nuke the bastards.”

Army of Darkness, Ashley Williams – “This…is…my…BOOMSTICK!”/”Give me some sugar, baby.”

The Rock, Mason – “Have a nice day.”/”Your best? Losers whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen.”

Dirty Harry, Dirty Harry – “I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”/”Go ahead, make my day.”

Ha ha! Gonna have to go with Gladiator (“…the time for honouring yourself is over, Highness!”) but that was a cool picture of the one and only Yul Brynner.

Well, since I got friendly with Yoda’s crotch a few months ago, I would say Yoda. But that green shrimp never called me back after our special moment together. So I am going with Han Solo. He can bring me into warped speed anytime.

M., oh man, when Maximus says that to the Emperor…whooboy. Let’s just say if I was Lucius, I would need a new toga. Oh oh and I forgot to put in the “Are you not entertained!?” quote. Heh. Oops.

(And that pic of Yul and Steve McQueen is one of my favorites–dammit not I want to watch the Magnificent Seven! Again!)

Katie :p Aw, give the 900 year old jedi master a break! I’m sure Han is a perfectly acceptable substitute!

But Thea, Yoda promised me the stars and the moon and after he got what he wanted from me, he kicked me to the curb

That little green bastard’s midichlorians must be out of whack or something. *Sends Han over to comfort Katie* It’s gonna be OK :p

I am torn between Dirty Harry and Leonidas! I love the quotes from Dirty Harry but I think, ultimately I would have to go with Leonidas: did you know that supposedly, he did say “come and get them” to the persian army?

    Katie : humpf.

Fight Club is one of my most favorite WTF movies. I loved how it simultaneously disturbed and mesmerized me.

Jules from Pulp Fiction!!! LOL I think that falls in the same WTF category as Fight Club. But funnier.

I think I vote for Maximus from Glaidator because I admire his badassness the most. At least out of the above films I’ve seen or know of, anyway. I’m not familiar with all of them.

DAYUM… this was way too freakin’ hard! So, I narrowed it down:

Die Hard, John McClane: cuz I luvs me some smartass hardass.

Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones: smart with self-deprecating humor

The Rock, Mason: That voice just trips my trigger every time.

300, Leonidas: Gerry Butler… damn near nekkid… ’nuff said

The Magnificent Seven, Vin: Back when men were men! Okay, they were also asswipes when it came to women, but this is fantasy, right?

Star Wars, Master Yoda: little shit gave the best mind-fucks ever!

Okay, my final choice… ::drumroll, please::… GAK! Do I have to pick just one?… Damn, this is tuff!… okay, here it is…

Bruce Willis, Die Hard, John McClane: for the smartass humor plus that fact that I have secret I’d-do-him fantasies when I watch him.

    OMG! I can’t decide!

When I scrolled down and saw Yoda, I thought Yessss (and How feel you? Anyone remember that MTV movie awards w/the Jedi Council? LMAO I did.), I love my little green man!

Katie, that may be why he hasn’t called?

But then came Han, and Doc Holiday. Damn I can’t decide!

    *uses da Force*

OK, surprisingly, I think I shall go w/Doc Holiday. Man has some of the best lines evah. I’ll be his huckleberry.

What a poll! It just doesn’t quit! I have to go with my Russell. Gladiator. Tyler, however, mmm.

Scarface, because Tony Montana was so good at being bad.

Fight Club, because Brad Pitt was efing hot. And the movie was insane.

    Gladiator, Russell Crow, nuff said.
