Smugglers Stash

Smugglers’ Stash and News

Hello everybody!!!! After the Week from Hell, we are back with our regular schedule!!! (and if you don’t know what we are talking about, check it out here).

Before we can talk about what’s up this week, a bit of sad news:

RIP Diana Wynne Jones:

The wonderful Diana Wynne Jones, one of our favourite writers, passed away on Friday night. I only just discovered Diana Wynne Jones’ books and they already made such a different in my reading life and I am really saddened by the news. Ana from Things Mean a Lot has a wonderful post up which I highly recommend.

This Week on the Book Smugglers:

On Monday we will be running a giveaway in celebration of the release of The Iron Thorn by Caitlin Kittredge.

On Tuesday, Ana posts her review of The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin by Josh Berg. There will be ranting.

On Wednesday, Thea finally gets to post her review of Dark Matter by Michelle Paver…

Then on Thursday, Thea is back again with a review of Triangle by Katherine Weber

On Friday we post our joint review of Chime by Franny Billingsley

And finally, on Saturday we post the mini-reviews on the second day of our Nebula Readathon (which had to move because of the Server Situation).

Aaaaand that’s it from us today. As usual, we remain,

The New Extra-Super-Ultra Shiny Wonder Woman

That is terrible news. DWJ was an amazing writer. I’ve been loving her books for over 20 years. And I always will.

Yes, RIP Diana Wynne Jones! What a wonderful mind, I am so sorry we’ve lost her, but she’s left a legacy.

    Thanks for the post!
