This Week on The Book Smugglers:

We kick off the week on Monday with an interview with Kat Zhang, author of YA science fiction/dystopia novel What’s Left of Me, followed up later in the day with Thea’s review of the book.

On Tuesday, Ana takes over with a review of YA urban fantasy novel The City’s Son by Tom Pollock, plus a guest post from the author about his inspirations and influences.

Wednesday, we are a stop on Claire Legrand’s debut middle grade horror novel, The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls – we have a joint review of the novel, plus a guest post from the author (plus a giveaway opportunity, naturally).

On Thursday, Ana takes over again with a review of historical fantasy novel Hide Me Among the Graves by Tim Powers. Plus, we are thrilled to have Tim Powers over to answer a few of our burning questions.

Finally, on Friday Thea closes out the week with a review of one of her most highly anticipated novels of the year: Juliet Marillier’s Shadowfell.

Thea James is one half of the maniacal duo behind The Book Smugglers. She is Filipina-American, but grew up in Hawaii, Indonesia, and Japan. A full-time book nerd who works in publishing for her day job, Thea currently resides in Astoria, Queens with her partner and rambunctious cat. COOKING FOR WIZARDS, WARRIORS & DRAGONS (available August 31, 2021) is her first cookbook.

    I’m so excited for your review of Shadowfell! I’m still trying to decide if it’s worth buying or if I can wait until it’s in the library… I’ll probably buy it.
