On the Smugglers’ Radar

“On The Smugglers’ Radar” is a feature for books that have caught our eye: books we have heard of via other bloggers, directly from publishers, and/or from our regular incursions into the Amazon jungle. Thus, the Smugglers’ Radar was born. Because we want far more books than we can possibly buy or review (what else is new?), we thought we would make the Smugglers’ Radar into a weekly feature – so YOU can tell us which books you have on your radar as well!

I have seen this next one on Twitter being touted as a weird Fantasy twist on Sherlock Holmes and Elementary, my dear reader, I want it very, very badly.

Upon returning to the city of Khelathra-Ven after five years fighting a war in another universe, Captain John Wyndham finds himself looking for somewhere to live, and expediency forces him to take lodgings at 221b Martyrs Walk. I feel like I have been remiss for not talking about Fran Wilde’s upcoming Middle Grade book Riverland yet. It looks amazing:

This Chinese-inspired YA Fantasy sounds great and it has a gorgeous cover to boot:

The first book on my list is the new Cindy Pon! The follow-up to Want is almost here:
