LexiOctober 31, 2013 at 12:34 am

AnonymousOctober 31, 2013 at 12:44 am
My favourite horror story is “The Price” by Neil Gaiman!
JenniferOctober 31, 2013 at 12:55 am
Coraline by Gaiman… I actually tend to avoid scary stories XD .
TriciaOctober 31, 2013 at 2:00 am
“The Exorcist”. Now, I say ‘favorite’ but really it’s more about nostalgia. To this day, it still terrifies me.
JoanneOctober 31, 2013 at 3:33 am
Favorite scary book is House of Leaves, favorite scary movie Night of the Living Dead!
Yuko86October 31, 2013 at 3:44 am

Lexa CainOctober 31, 2013 at 5:10 am
Great giveaway! I have too many favorite horror novels to choose just one, but my fav movie is “Jaws,” even if that’s not a typical horror film.
AnonymousOctober 31, 2013 at 5:29 am
I think my favorite horror movies would be Shining and The Omen. What can I say, kids just creep me out
Kelly DottyOctober 31, 2013 at 5:55 am
The book that played on my mind the most was Stephen King’s It which I read when I was quite young!
Katie S.October 31, 2013 at 6:28 am
My favorite horror film is 28 Days Later. In terms of books, I would have to go with And Then There Were None. I know it’s technically a mystery novel, but it scared the crap out of me when I was reading it, so yeah.

Coraline scared the heck out of me when I was a kid. The other father part still bothers me.
Anna K.October 31, 2013 at 7:21 am
My favorite horror book is Let The Right One in. By the synopsis I was expecting the vampire thing to be main character´s imagination, and the vampire kid to be mere mortal, though abused, kid.
At 3 a.m. I´d come to regret my choice of light night reading.
Read the whole thing in one night, slept next few nights with lights on, still years later feel creeped out when walking through an underpass…
NataliaOctober 31, 2013 at 7:36 am
I have so many but this week I re-watched Event Horizan and cabin in the Woods which are both awesome. The first horror book that came to mind is Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Brite. Right now I’m in the middle of reading Parasite by Mira Grant so far so good.
HeatherOctober 31, 2013 at 7:44 am
I would love to be entered! I’ve wanted to read a few of these titles!!

srsOctober 31, 2013 at 10:02 am
Personally, I don’t really like horror, but my partner does and if I win I’m giving all the books to him. As a kid, I did love this ghost story middle grade book called “Wait ‘Till Helen Comes” that was terrifyingly creepy to my 10 year old self.
fs1October 31, 2013 at 10:08 am
The exorcist is my all time favorite. 🙂 I really like horror movies. Next to it it’s the ring 🙂 Thanks for the giveway!
sandyg265October 31, 2013 at 10:11 am
I don’t have a favorite but just saw The Cabin in the Woods and really enjoyed it.
Sarah E.October 31, 2013 at 10:25 am
It is hard to chose a favorite scary book for me—I love all of them. One book that really scared me is actually a memoir and not exactly a horror story. It is called “Strange Piece of Paradise” by Terri Jentz.
Heather C.October 31, 2013 at 10:34 am
Excellent giveaway! I’m in desperate need of boosting the horror collection in my school library. In general, I’m not a reader of horror, but when I do, I prefer those that scare you without being super bloody and/or gory. One of the scariest stories I’ve ever read is “Three Skeleton Key” by George G. Toudouze.
InkPuddlePatOctober 31, 2013 at 10:51 am
Halloween and The Thing.
GenevieveOctober 31, 2013 at 10:58 am
superbwgOctober 31, 2013 at 11:00 am
Oh so many books and movies to choose from. This year my favorite books are The Haunting of Hill House, The Graveyard Book, and Pride Prejudice and Zombies. My favorite movies are The Others, The Orphanage and 28 Days Later
AprilOctober 31, 2013 at 11:17 am
The only ‘horror’ film I can actually handle is Poltergeist because I’m a total wimp. I also steer clear of most horror books except for the YA and Middle Grade ones as those I can generally handle. So I’ll nominate Coraline as my favorite horror book.
Sunday SmithOctober 31, 2013 at 11:53 am
My favorite spooky tale is Dracula by Bram Stoker. It has the most sensual scene I had ever read in all my 15 years – the age I was when I read it – and it had nothing to do with sex!
Hannah HOctober 31, 2013 at 12:31 pm
Hmm. I really liked NOS4A2- it’s probably the best horror novel I’ve read for a while now. I like horror novels where the setting is really important. I enjoyed Bone Song quite a bit because of it, although I thought the plot and characters didn’t live up to the sheer awesomeness of the setting and premise. I like horror short stories, too. Ray Bradbury and Sarah Monette are probably my favorite authors there, although Roald Dahl’s short stories are usually more creepy than both of theirs.
Anita YanceyOctober 31, 2013 at 12:43 pm
My favorite book or movie is The Shining.
AnnOctober 31, 2013 at 12:56 pm

AmandaOctober 31, 2013 at 1:31 pm
It’s gotta be the Rose Red miniseries.
LaurenOctober 31, 2013 at 1:53 pm
My new favorite horror novel is The Edge of Dark Water, by Joe Lansdale. Talk about atmospheric — this book creeped me out to no end. I think it features one of the most horrifying villains I’ve ever encountered in the pages of a book!
jenn aka the picky girlOctober 31, 2013 at 2:02 pm
I hate horror! But Uncle Montague’s book looks amazing. I really did enjoy The House with the Clock in Its Walls years ago, though. The scariest I go on Halloween is Arsenic & Old Lace, a classic. 🙂
Regan SmithOctober 31, 2013 at 2:03 pm
NOS4A2– my favorite!

Frankenstein is by far my favorite. I love the complexities and deep sadness of that story.
Jill the OWLOctober 31, 2013 at 5:16 pm

I loved the creepiness in House of Leaves. Which is maybe not technically horror, but it freaked me out more than any other horror book ever did. My fave horror movie is Cabin in the Woods.
HebeOctober 31, 2013 at 8:21 pm
Can I count Stephen King’s Dark Tower series as horror? Pretty please? If not, I also love Frankenstein and The Historian. TV-wise, Whitechapel is also quite good, in a guilty-pleasure kind of way.
Carol MOctober 31, 2013 at 8:39 pm
Stephen King’s PET SEMETARY is my favorite.
erinf1October 31, 2013 at 8:42 pm

StephanieOctober 31, 2013 at 11:24 pm
My favorite horror movie is the Exorcist
DanaOctober 31, 2013 at 11:36 pm
Is Ghostbusters horror or comedy? Both? Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland are both too. I suppose I like my gore mixed with laughs. 😛
Tricia MartinOctober 31, 2013 at 11:41 pm
Nightmare on Elm Street.
Bethany MooreNovember 1, 2013 at 1:10 am
Definitely The Shining! I think it took me three times before I actually made it through the whole movie.
JanaNovember 1, 2013 at 2:27 am
My favorite book, after all these years, remains Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery.” Such a great piece!

Happy Halloween! I don’t think anything will scare me as much as the Goosebumps books did when I was a kid, especially the one with the kids turning into a chicken.
It gave me nightmares for days!
Giada M.November 1, 2013 at 5:00 pm
Coraline by Neil Gaiman is my favorite horror book. Thank you for this great giveaway! 😀

AllisonNovember 1, 2013 at 8:41 pm
Salem’s Lot by Stephen King
Devon KotchNovember 1, 2013 at 10:57 pm
The Shining is probably my favorite book and movie. But I think I may have to admit to loving the mini-series TV remake of The Shining more than the 70s movie. It’s so much more creepy/scary to me.
Laura MorriganNovember 2, 2013 at 12:38 am
Most things I like are pretty Gothic, not sure about how horrifying they are! My favourite movie is Interview With the Vampire, but if we are talking classic horror, probably House on Haunted Hill. I haven’t seen it for so long but have been thinking about it a lot in the lead up to Halloween!
Mary PrestonNovember 2, 2013 at 7:55 pm
THE SHINING is a great favorite of mine.
Chenise JonesNovember 2, 2013 at 11:40 pm
