Happy Wednesday and welcome to a regular monthly feature in partnership with Fran Wilde and Aliette de Bodard’s Cooking the Books Podcast!

Today’s guest is Mary Robinette Kowal, talking to Aliette and Fran over at the main kitchen, about her new novel The Calculating Stars, (pre-order) which is a prequel to the fantastic and award-winning story “The Lady Astronaut of Mars“. I am told we will need six boxes of tissues – especially if you had read the short story and knows how it ends. I AM NOT READY.

But I digress!

Back to the podcast at hand…which is the 65th edition! Congratulations!

Here at the extension kitchen, we have bonus Q&A content and an audio snippet:

The Book Smugglers: Let’s play Marry/Kiss/Kill, but with food.

Mary Robinette Kowal:

Marry: Cornbread – It is comforting, with surprising variations, and there for you.
Kiss: Sticky toffee pudding. – It is so rich and creamy and amazing but not appropriate for every occasion.
Kill: Cooked carrots – Abominations of texture and taste.
